Question by James: What to do if you think you are at risk of becoming a victim of identity theft?
Is there a way to alert the credit reporting agencies or to protect yourself better? I think that someone has information which could easily lead to stealing my identity but I don’t think they have actually stolen my identity yet but they could. Any suggestions?

Q&A: I think someone has stolen my identity!?

Question by sandcreekfarms.manager: I think someone has stolen my identity!?
My name and exact birth-date match someone else living in a town in texas that doesn’t exist. My SSL is also like that (or at least that was where to computer took me to when I typed it in) I tried to look up my credit report and none of the three top sites worked. Two of them said that my credit could be frozen or something like that and the other site had no record of my existence. Should I be worried?

Are you serious?

Q&A: I think someone has stolen my identity!?

If someone really did steal your identity, you wouldn’t be asking people for help from an Internet forum.

If you’re that worried, call the 800 numbers on the credit bureau and call the SSA.

Sheesh.

I got a text from Wells Fargo but I think it might be a scam?

Question by Eilean Ban: I got a text from Wells Fargo but I think it might be a scam?
About 2 weeks ago I got a text from Wells Fargo saying “FREE TEXT: Please contact Wells Fargo immediately at [800 number that I can't remember] or log onto www.wf.com to view your account info. To end text alerts reply QUIT.” Then I got the same text a week ago. Then yesterday I got one that said “It is IMPERATIVE that you call Wells Fargo at [800 number] or go online to view your account info at www.wf.com. To end text alerts reply QUIT”

The thing is I have Wells Fargo mobile banking’s number saved in my phone and the number this came from wasn’t it. Also, I went online to view my account info and I can’t see anything wrong with my account (aside from the fact I’m a little late paying my credit card…). Also, I googled the number the text was sent by (70-650) and got the website “who called me?” with multiple reports of people getting similar texts not just from Wells Fargo, but a whole bunch of different banks, even when they didn’t have an account with them or never signed up for text banking. Also it said that basically as soon as you call the 800 number you’re prompted to give all your account info. But here’s what’s tripping me up… www.wf.com is wells fargo’s actual mobile banking website.

So what do you think? Scam or no?
I did talk to someone from Wells Fargo…they were no help. They basically said “idk it might be a scam or it might be the collection department” and then he changed the subject :/

I think I got scam what can I do now?

Question by : I think I got scam what can I do now?
About a month ago I did some job search on www.craiglist.org. I happened to turn my resume in for a position was open (exercise equipment tech) about a month later I got the email back and ask me to fill out the application online first in order to schedule a interview. So I clicked on the link was provided redirected me to a OMA management website, and ask for whole bunch of a.b.c. type of questions and ask me to turn in my credit score summary. It was convience for me because it has a link to Scoresense.com for me to sign out for the free trial. I wasn’t thinking enroll in all that and then attached my the summary and sent along with the reply email. I have a bad feeling about this so I went back to the website I went on last night. It wasn’t there anymore. So this guy he tricked me to sign up for free trial from Scoresense.com. How much money will you think he get for it? and will he use my personal information to apply for credit cards .??? Please help

Thanks
That’s what I thought! Too late isn’t it. I’m going to call Scoresense tomorrow to cancel the membership if that didn’t go too well then I will cancel my god dam card. I read a couple reviews about Scoresense and they do scammed people like me. Thanks for your help guys!!!

YEAH! You got scammed!! Real job offers don’t make you sign-up for your credit score or anything like that. I guess you don’t have much experience in online job opportunities. Well….sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I would also keep an eye out for any suspicious activity with your finances and credit. Good luck!!

Answer by Random Hero
Well, if you did in fact commit identity theft, then they might sew you and put you in jail for a long time because thats a federal offense, but if it didn’t take any money, you might not be caught.

Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?

Question by wannabecsi: Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?
I am planning on saving money for an iMac. I plan on purchasing it in August, is this a bad idea? I know the current iMac has been out since 2009, and I do not know how often Apple updates/creates new versions of each product. Would you Apple/Mac experts help me out? I need a computer for the upcoming school year, so it should be purchased in the next couple months.

Best answer:

Answer by nate_ramos_33
Apple routinely upgrades it’s computers. They aren’t likely to get a whole redesign. They might get a spec update and maybe update the processor or a few other things. The hard part, Apple can update anything at anytime and some products don’t get updated for years and others get updated routinely.

Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?

Here’s what I would say. Does the computer do what you need it to? Does is it well built and perform as expected? Honestly, waiting 6 months to get a marginal upgrade that only improves performance a tiny bit, isn’t usually worth the wait. I think one to one is a good solution for a lot of people if you have an Apple store nearby because it trains you on how to use a Mac. It makes you more efficient in how you use it and saves you time that way. Macs routinely outperform most computers down the line.

They don’t have the best specs, but the OS is great and makes them run great. I did include a buyer’s guide from Macrumors. They are saying don’t buy as there was an update last October.
