I want to know all the risks involved in online banking & shopping using credit card. If there is any program available which will ensure 100% safety, how it does so & are such programs fool proof? OS Windows 7. Thanks

There shouldn’t be much risk if you’re protected. If you have a antivirus program you’re good to go. But when you’re making transactions, check if https:// is in the URL. The usual protocol is just http. The s behind it means it’s secured. If there isn’t one and you don’t have another site to go to, just type in https:// infront and that should only allow you and the other recipient to communicate. No one else should be able to converse. You can try this on a trusted website like Amazon. Add random things into your cart, checkout and you should see the https:// in the URL.

Question by Lynne: I have two questions about internet safety?
I recently advertised for a rental on the internet. Someone who responded to me asked me for my credit score. He asked that I open the link in his message and use it to find my credit score. I opened it but did not fill out any information. Would it be dangerous if I had done this and, also, if the responder was a certified public accountant as he claimed, wouldn’t he have provided the phone number to his office or business?

Never give out any credit card information on the internet or phone. I would never give out any really personal info. Just say if I don’t pay you just cancel me.
