Question by Imelda: Can PayPal still be used with PayPal balance but with a card linked to it?
I bought myself a Prepaid ANZ Visa Gift Card and created a PayPal account and linked it to that, but I read on some forums that you can’t add funds to your PayPal account using a credit/debit card. So, does that mean I can’t use PayPal or will the prepaid card just get charged when I purchase online?

Answer by tom
Yes it can. If you have money in your paypal account it comes straight out. If you do not it will take it from the card or bank account you have linked to it. If the card is a debit card it will ask for all your bank info. When a payment is done in this manner , the payment is not instant. In fact it can take several days for it to process and the seller will be advised to not send any items pending the payment being processed. It can be a real pain in the butt. If you are going to use paypal that is how that works, but i would suggest finding another payment method and avoiding paypal.

Question by GENEE33: My sister has been a victim of fraud through one of those spam pay-pal emails?
They were able to replicate paypals website and she entered her ss# and credit card # – luckily she was able to cancel her credit card before they charged anything as well as having a 90-day watch on her credit report. She actually called paypal and they were aware of these emails – Has anyone experienced this?

Question by lorr: How to pay with a credit card through paypal?
Hello, so basically I’ve added my credit card to my paypal account, but it still lists the available funds as $ 0.00. Is this normal? Does it just automatically pay via my credit card, and I don’t need to transfer money from the card over to my paypal account?

Thanks for any help icon smile How to pay with a credit card through paypal?

I just did that. Indeed, they seem to make you think you have to fill up your funds and then do a transfer. Believe me, you don’t need to do that. If you are in that menu, press the back button. There should be somewhere below or around the peripherals of that menu the option not to use Paypal account (or ‘don’t have a Paypal account’) and you can pay by credit card.
I avoid using my Paypal account whenever possible, they charge incredible high fees and sometimes hold your funds capture that you cannot withdraw for a certain period.
