Question by Bob: I made a purchase using my phone threw someone else’s wifi. Can my information be found?
When I made the purchase, it said the IP address was recorded and thats where they could go in the event of fraud. Is my info traceable or findable to anybody?

If you are saying that you used someone’s normal wifi home connection, not a hotspot like a starbucks or McDonald’s then i would say you are 99.9% safe.

they would need special software on their network to record network activity,
and most software will only record your ip and device and the ip (website) you connect to,
they would still need your username and password for the site and most of us don’t store are credit card info on the site,

if i give you my amazon usename and password, you would not be able to buy anything using my credit. yes you can put lots on items in my cart but when it comes time to check-out you would be buying with your credit card.

To be safe don’t do this any more, someone can setup an open wifi connection just to get personal info from users. – it’s not that hard to do, very little tech skills needed..

Question by : What happens if i put someone elses cable service under my name?
So i gave permission to my friend for him to put his cable service under my name. But i just found out the company shut it down probably because he wasnt paying. Would this ruin my credit score? I never signed anything with the company i just gave him my cable bill for him to give to the company. Now i dont if the company disconnecting the service would affect me in any way?

Avoid it
remember that if its under your name, then if any debt appears on the account, it will be your burden not his after all, its in your name. and if your not too careful he can get arrested for fraud, after all, its your name not his
