Question by natalie marie: What do you call a person who fixes the hardware and software on computers, what would their degree be called?
I want to attend college, my career choice is computers. Fixing the hardware and the software is mainly what i want to do. If I attend Devry or ITT what Major would I declare? I was told it’s called an IT, but i looked it up, and it divides into many sections, that has nothing to do with repairing, and after alot of researching..I still can’t figure it out.

Hardware is a EE. Software is a CS.

If you want it on the technician level, it’s just a person who knows hardware and software troubleshooting.

Where should I start? I hear all these words like networks, programming and have not got the first clue. A course at school is not an option, im already in university studying on a finance degree. Any advice you guys can give me would be appreciated. Regards

I’m 14 and I’m an expert in PHP, HTML, C, VB, etc. Is there a website which will pay me for doing things like answering questions, etc.?(other that “rent a coder”, “elance” and “get a free lancer”). Please help. My parents will withdraw the money.

I am currently using a customized Dell and the only thing I changed was adding a wireless card. I haven’t faced those bugs and issues that most people usually complain about in forums.

Is it because allowing Dell build it, everything is more likely to be compatible?

I am thinking about building my own now to save money.

it would have issues if it doesn’t has the requirements to do what it was built to do, or it could be faulty hardware
