How can I use my iTunes money instead of a credit card?

Question by Captain America: How can I use my iTunes money instead of a credit card?
I used a credit card to buy something and now I have to “verify” the credit card info if I want to make purchases on iTunes. How can I get back to the iTunes money from the gift cards?

Answer by Andrea
If you have money left in your account from a gift card, itunes would normally use this before proceeding with a credit card payment. Are you sure you have a gift card balance?

Why does the app store require credit card info to download a free app?

Question by Brock: Why does the app store require credit card info to download a free app?
I am 17 I haven’t a bank account or a credit card and for some reason the App store on my ipod touch won’t allow me to install free apps without a credit card. Is there any way around this?

Answer by Nate Dooley
When you set up an iTunes account, you need a credit card #.
You can’t download anything until you have an iTunes account.
Try going to the store and buying a little prepaid visa card and registering it online, and using that as your credit card.
Just don’t go over the amount, because you can’t refill the card.

Can PayPal still be used with $0 PayPal balance but with a card linked to it?

by pennstatenews

Question by Imelda: Can PayPal still be used with PayPal balance but with a card linked to it?
I bought myself a Prepaid ANZ Visa Gift Card and created a PayPal account and linked it to that, but I read on some forums that you can’t add funds to your PayPal account using a credit/debit card. So, does that mean I can’t use PayPal or will the prepaid card just get charged when I purchase online?

Best answer:

Answer by tom
Yes it can. If you have money in your paypal account it comes straight out. If you do not it will take it from the card or bank account you have linked to it. If the card is a debit card it will ask for all your bank info. When a payment is done in this manner , the payment is not instant. In fact it can take several days for it to process and the seller will be advised to not send any items pending the payment being processed. It can be a real pain in the butt. If you are going to use paypal that is how that works, but i would suggest finding another payment method and avoiding paypal.

Q&A: Will a rogue antispyware program steal your credit card # if entered, or just take that one payment?

Question by Mark: Will a rogue antispyware program steal your credit card # if entered, or just take that one payment?
My dad was gullible enough to pay $ 50 via credit card to a fake, rogue antispyware program called PC Antispyware 2010, and I want to know if it will steal my dad’s credit card number, or just take that one payment without keeping his credit card number in any records to manipulate.

Best answer:

Answer by x_southernbelle
You dad made a grave mistake! Tell him to contact his credit card company IMMEDIATELY to report what has happened so they might be able to stop payment or recoup the payment if the payment has already been made.

Q&A: Will a rogue antispyware program steal your credit card # if entered, or just take that one payment?

As for what the rogue company will do with the info is anyone’s guess. But you can bet it will NOT be good!!! Identity theft comes to mind as does the unbridled use of that credit account for other nefarious purposes all the while running up the balance owed…by guess who – your dad!!!

If it were me (but would NEVER be because I refuse to buy things on-line), I would cancel that credit account and create a new one. Tell your dad _*NEVER*_ ever to put his credit card, bank account numbers or ANY other personal information on the web ever again for maximum protection and security of his identity and his money….not to mention the ha$ $ les of getting rid of the rogue-ware from the computer.

Yes, you can. There’s an option on Amazon’s website that’s called “Bill Me Later”. It’s quite useful, although credit cards are much easier.

How do credit card hackers who only stole the numbers and are ordering online, manage not to get caught?

Question by ajax: How do credit card hackers who only stole the numbers and are ordering online, manage not to get caught?
I just want to be more educated on the matter as a new credit card holder. What are the methods they use to dissimulate the shipments? Can’t the holder trace the address where the items got shipt to?

Best answer:

How do credit card hackers who only stole the numbers and are ordering online, manage not to get caught?

Answer by David G.
They have a number of options, including:
1. Buy a PO box with cash and ship things there
2. Ship to a home that has been abandoned, where they know the owner is out, is a showhome, etc.
3. Ship to some guy they pay to accept the packages for them (this is less common and quite stupid really)

I wouldn’t worry about hackers though. A person can get your credit card info out of the bin of many stores without ever touching a computer, it’s not really all that hard.
