Question by MM: Can I use my money from apple to use for a repair?
So my computer screen is cracked and the mac store told me it would cost almost 500 dollars to repair! So if you have a mac, be very careful! However, i have 100 dollars to the mac store but i think its the online store, like to apps and songs and stuff. Can i use it towards my repair? Also if you know of a cheaper place around ny that is reliable and would fix it for less let me know. Thanks !!

No, you can’t use iTunes Store credit for repairs and you can’t use Apple Store credit for repairs.

Q&A: Does Apple extend credit to people with a fair credit score?

Question by T D: Does Apple extend credit to people with a fair credit score?
My plan was the get an Apple notebook next year but it may have to be sooner since my sh*tty PC got infected again with sh*tware. I’m just so fed up with dealing with it. The problem is I’m still getting my credit card balances down. My credit score falls on the Fair category. I have never missed a single payment, though. It’s just that my balances are high in relation to my limits. I want to try applying for an Apple credit account but I do not want to put another inquiry in my credit history this early since 2 months ago, I was trying to get loans from virtually anyone that offered loans and got denied for each and every one of them. So I was wondering if anyone out there with a fair credit score has ever been approved for an Apple credit account. Thanks much for any comment. Just really hating my PC right now.

Answer by OMAR G
With all the inquiries that you have on your credit after all the applications that you filled, your score is now even lower, I would recommend you to go to your bank to apply for a computer loan, make sure you go prepare with a print out of The store where you are gonna buy the computer and the cost, recent check stubs and proof of residence, if they don’t approve you find a finance company that work with people with bad credit, keep in mind that if they approve you, is going to be with a very high rate. try to lower your balance and DO NOT put a lot of inquiries on your credit, looks real bad to the lender’s eyes.
in finance for 15 years.

Does Apple charge for repair under warranty?

Question by terpsichore: Does Apple charge for repair under warranty?
I am getting a part on my macbook replaced. The person on the phone said it was under warranty. But, I see a $ 113 charge from Apple for the repair/part. Is this just so I will sent the damaged part back or has Apple charged me for the repair?

Once you send the damaged part back you will be credited if you’ve already been charged. Or you will be charged that id you do not send it back.

When you get to the point where it asks for the Credit card info, you can select “iTunes Voucher” and it will let you create the account.

Although, depending on where you live, I have heard that some countries have different rules and that will not work everywhere!

Q&A: Are Apple store repairs reliable?

Question by ser.seren: Are Apple store repairs reliable?
A friend of mine spilled water on my new MacBook Pro a few weeks ago, it was awful. Anyway, we sent it to the Apple store for repair, and they said they would fix it for around $ 800 (Keep in mind that I very recently purchased this, the spill occurred one week after I bought it). Anyway, my credit card company also said they would cover the cost for a policy they had on electronic warranty. End of story, thankfully I’m getting it fixed without having to pay. But one thing I was told was that I could not get this computer fixed again if anything had happened to it, and I’m curious to know if these repairs are reliable, even if it is Apple, and especially because it was water damage. Thanks in advance. icon smile Q&A: Are Apple store repairs reliable?

Yes, its very reliable (if bit pricey). I’m betting they’ll replace it for you if they screw up fixing it.

There is an 800 phone number on the Apple website for iTunes. Just phone them, it is much easier.

Answer by Liz
Here’s how. Try to purchase a free app from the iTunes store. It will prompt you to log in or make an account. Click to make the account. It shouldn’t ask for credit card information as long as you get to it by trying to purchase a free app.

Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?

Question by wannabecsi: Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?
I am planning on saving money for an iMac. I plan on purchasing it in August, is this a bad idea? I know the current iMac has been out since 2009, and I do not know how often Apple updates/creates new versions of each product. Would you Apple/Mac experts help me out? I need a computer for the upcoming school year, so it should be purchased in the next couple months.

Answer by nate_ramos_33
Apple routinely upgrades it’s computers. They aren’t likely to get a whole redesign. They might get a spec update and maybe update the processor or a few other things. The hard part, Apple can update anything at anytime and some products don’t get updated for years and others get updated routinely.

Do you think that Apple will update or create a new iMac?

Here’s what I would say. Does the computer do what you need it to? Does is it well built and perform as expected? Honestly, waiting 6 months to get a marginal upgrade that only improves performance a tiny bit, isn’t usually worth the wait. I think one to one is a good solution for a lot of people if you have an Apple store nearby because it trains you on how to use a Mac. It makes you more efficient in how you use it and saves you time that way. Macs routinely outperform most computers down the line.

They don’t have the best specs, but the OS is great and makes them run great. I did include a buyer’s guide from Macrumors. They are saying don’t buy as there was an update last October.
