You’ve obviously never driven a Rocket-engined Oldsmobile. They were the stuff of legend, and breathtaking to drive. Not like the toaster oven you’re probably toddling around in. And if you didn’t drive like a douchebag – you wouldn’t need airbags.
You need to get your facts straight. Opinions are one thing, history is another all together. The Ford Escort was one of the best engineered and (still) best-selling world cars of all time. The Acadian and the Omega were derivatives of the Nova, another simple, but well engineered model that lasted decades. The K-platform Chryslers were nothing less than ingenious for their time, and saved Chrysler and millions of jobs. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t displace their historical value.

if there would have never been competition from the japanese and the europeans in the u.s, we’d be driving cars that would last 2 years and then fall appart.. shame on General motors for cars like the Acadian, the mustang 2, omega, vega..shame on ford for the escort, pinto, shame on chrysler for all their 80s junk.. i drive a 2006 honda and it never ever broke..
